As we approach the end of the calendar year, ITS will be participating in an upgrade of the Identity Engine (software platform) used to manage the W&L MyApps page (Okta – Single Sign-On Service). The update will ensure that the community has access to the latest and most secure version of this ever-expanding and essential service.
What is the impact on you?
The new Identity Engine doesn’t support Okta Mobile (OM), so users can no longer use it to access their apps. Instead, users can access their apps from the Okta End-User Dashboard in a mobile browser (see screenshot for mobile browser example).

What should you do?
If you currently use Okta Mobile for either iOS or Android, please discontinue its use and check to be sure you can access your W&L applications through a mobile browser instead. Doing so right away can prevent workflow disruptions once the Identity Engine is updated.
You may want to add a shortcut to your phone’s home screen.
Adding a page icon to your home screen can provide you with a quick and convenient way to reach myapps.wlu.edu on your phone without having to type the URL into a browser.
iOS Instructions
- Open myapps.wlu.edu in Safari and select the “Share” icon at the bottom (square with up arrow).
- Scroll down and select “Add to Home Screen” option.
- Confirm/edit the preferred name you want on the icon, then select “Add”.
Android Instructions
- Open myapps.wlu.edu in Chrome and select the browser menu (3 dots in top right).
- Select “Add to Home Screen” option.
- Confirm/edit the preferred name you want on the icon, then select “Add”.
