Recent Phishing Emails Using Fake Extortion Tactics

The W&L community is currently seeing a large number of phishing attempts claiming that a student user’s account has been hacked. The emails go on to assert that the attacker has taken control of the user’s computer, stolen their contact list and seized / recorded from their webcam. Please see example below:

These phishing emails are fake. In all cases, NONE of the W&L accounts have been compromised.

3. Delete the email from your account.
