Secure Your Digital Life with
Keeper Password Manager

Are you overwhelmed by managing multiple passwords? Simplify your digital security with Keeper, now available to W&L students and employees. Keeper securely stores all your passwords in one encrypted vault, so you only need to remember a single primary password to access all your accounts, applications, and online services.

Keeper does more than just store passwords—it helps you generate strong, unique passwords that are tough for hackers to crack, providing an extra layer of protection for your online presence. Plus, with automatic form filling, you’ll save time entering personal information on websites. You can access Keeper directly from the MyApps dashboard. To get started, visit our How-To page for detailed instructions.

Introducing Nudge for macOS Updates

Over the past several months, ITS has been testing Nudge, a helpful app that reminds you to install important updates on your university-owned Mac to keep it secure and running smoothly. Starting on January 29, 2025, if your computer requires an update, Nudge will display reminders and provide clear, easy instructions on how to complete the process. It’s designed to ensure your Mac stays up-to-date without being disruptive or confusing.

  2. On the menu, click Get Info.
  3. Navigate to the “Open With:” section and select Adobe Acrobat DC or Reader from the dropdown list.
  4. Tap Change All to apply this change to all future PDF documents. Tap Continue to finish.

PC Tip of the Month

By default, PDFs are set to open with Microsoft Edge. If you’d rather view PDFs in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, follow these instructions from the Adobe website:

  1. Right-click on the thumbnail of any PDF file.
  2. On the menu, click Properties.
  3. A new dialog box will appear. In the first subsection, the text “Opens with:” indicates which PDF viewer is set as your default. Click the Change button.
  4. Select Adobe Acrobat DC or Reader from the list as your default.
  5. Click OK to save and apply changes

Nerd Corner

Each month in the Nerd Corner, a member of the ITS team will share a helpful tip, a must-have app, or other tech insights to make your work a little easier. This month’s tip comes from John Watkins, Director of Client Services:

If you’re ever emailing or speaking with someone on campus whom you don’t know, you can quickly learn more about them by using Workday. Simply type their name into the search bar at the top of the Workday window. This will bring up their photo, title, department, and location. You can also view their organizational chart by clicking on the “Team” icon on the left sidebar menu. Now you’re equipped to connect more easily and professionally with your colleagues!
