Consistent with trends across the country, we continue to see a significant rise in COVID-19 phishing attempts targeting our community. Cyber-criminals are sending emails claiming to be from W&L administrators, departments or staff.

The most recent messages contain fake updates about local coronavirus cases with suggestions that users click on links to view campus statistics. By clicking on attachments or embedded links, you become vulnerable to malicious software that can be downloaded to your device.

We urge you to stay vigilant for COVID-19 email and text messaging scams now and in the coming weeks and months. We will provide you with updates as we continue to monitor network related threats.

Please contact the ITS Help Desk (x4357) should you have questions or concerns.
