Easier Okta Access

For many W&L employees, the Okta page—aka MyApps—is the daily hub for accessing frequently used applications like Box, Workday, Canvas, 25Live, and more. But did you know there’s an easy way to streamline access, enhance security, and save time? By adding the Okta browser plugin to your web browser, you can simplify how you interact with your favorite university applications. Learn how to access the Okta plugin by checking out our recent post on ITS News.

Technology Tips

Is there an important email that you’d like to keep top of mind (or in this case, top of Inbox?) In Outlook, you can pin important emails to the top of your email inbox. Hover over the message to see the pin option. Click on the pin, and the email goes to the top of the email inbox. Click on the pin again, and the email returns to its place! Note: Your email inbox must be sorted by date for this to work.

Apple Tip of the Month

Do you need to step away from your computer in a hurry but you want to keep your data secure? The fastest way to lock your Mac is to use the keyboard shortcut Control-Command-Q. Thanks for keeping your information safe!

PC Tip of the Month

When you need to step away from your computer for just a moment, but you don’t want to leave your computer logged in and visible to passersby, click on the Windows key and L at the same time. When you get back to your machine, just put in your password and you’re good to go!

Nerd Corner

In the Nerd Corner this month is Dirk van Assendelft, Director of Core Systems in ITS.

If you want to have easy access to an application in Office Online (and all the cool kids use Office Online), Core Systems has made it really easy for you. Open a browser and go to any of the following links to be taken directly to each app:
